Board and Staff
UAATA has six active Board members:
Larry Lawlor, MBA, Chairman
Larry spend 25 years at Honeywell in MA in finance and administration( Since moving to Utah Larry has worked in real estate and mortgage business, as well as skiing in his free time.
Gary Walton, Vice Chairman
Gary has owned and managed Beehive Bail Bonds, a highly respected business in downtown Salt Lake City, for nearly 25 years and brings a valuable business perspective to UAATA as well as a strong understanding of fiscal and budgetary matters. Gary enthusiastically pitches in to help out whenever and wherever we need him.
Debbie Carr (M.Ed., B.S.N.), Secretary
Debbie graduated from the University of Utah and worked as a nurse in pediatric psychiatry for several years before becoming a preschool special education teacher. She has worked for over 25 years with young children with disabilities. She began her work with animal-assisted therapy in her own classroom at Oakridge School in 1990 and has since become a Delta certified Pet Partner, Instructor, Evaluator, and AAT Applications for Healthcare Instructor. She is UAATA's Program Coordinator in the Provo-Orem area.
Dawnne Casey
Dawnne was born and raised in Southern New Jersey. She graduated from Brigham Young Unviersity with a Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders (Speech Pathology). Dawnne currently works as a Special Education Coordinator for Provo School District and works in private practice at several intermediate care facilities in Utah County. She has seen, first hand, the beneficial rewards for all parties involved in animal-assisted therapy in both the educational and private settings.
Andrew Wallace, MBA
Andrew is the Marketing and Development Director at The Downtown Alliance where he is responsible for corporate sponsorships, communications and fundraising . He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from the University of Utah and Masters of Business Administration degree from Westminster College in 2001.

Brian Roberts, Esq.
Brian F. Roberts was born in Salt Lake City, Utah where he resided until
attending college at Georgetown University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts
in American Government from Georgetown in 1993. He returned to Salt Lake
City and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah in 1996.
Brian joined the law firm of Cohne, Rappaport & Segal as an associate in
the fall of 1996 and became a shareholder in the firm in 2001. Brian
currently practices in the areas of commercial law and estate planning.
Ted Kelley
Ted was born in California and grew up traveling throughout the United States and Germany while his father served in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology (Special Education). Ted currently works as the Director of Special Programs and Technology for Provo School District. Animals have always been important to Ted. He believes that his mental health has been strengthened and energized by the care and love that his cats offer him constantly. There is no doubt that animal-assisted therapy can comfort those in need of emotional support.
